This tour updates half-day elephant experience joint tour into a private tour that includes;
- Half-day private elephant experience in Manifa Elephant Camp at Luang Prabang
- Private transfer from/to your accommodation in Luang Prabang
- Senior tour guide or camp manager to introduce you to Laos elephants and elephant culture
- A private cottage for a restroom/shower
- Lunch at a private table in a restaurant overlooking the Mekong River
Your experience begins with a transportation service pick up from your accommodation between 8:00 am – 9:30 am or 11:30 am – 12:30 pm. (you can specify your pickup time. For pickups after 11:30, lunch first. ) You will visit the mahout (elephant handler) village in Manifa Elephant Camp and observe their daily routine as you see a demonstration of an elephant health check. Your guide will explain the elephants while they examine the elephant’s eyes, ears, mouths, and feet. Learn how to estimate the weight of an elephant by measuring the body used by veterinarians and Mahout. You will understand that riding an elephant is well below 20% of its body weight, which a human, elephant, horse, or most animals generally can carry.
You will know the name of an elephant that will become your partner today and learn how to introduce yourself to your elephant and how to mount your elephant to ride bareback. Then you will have an intimate interaction with the elephant. (One elephant for one person) You will ride your elephant and explore the jungle. Experience how powerful elephant mobility is in the dense vegetation and sloping jungle terrain. After passing through the jungle, your elephant will plunge into the Mekong River. Help your elephant body cool off and bathe in the Mekong River. Finally, you feed and care for your elephant with organic vegetables and fruits.
You will be offered a delicious buffet lunch at the restaurant overlooking the Mekong river and elephants roaming free.
After lunch, return to Luang Prabang by minivan. We will arrive at the city center or your hotel around 14:00.

For groups of 3 or more, the price is $165 for the first two and an additional $25 per person. For example, for 3 people, $165+$25 = $190 total (so $63.3 per person) for 5 people, $165+$75=$240 total (so $48 per person)

Child Policy
One adult may accompany one child under 110 cm in height free of charge. If one adult participates with two or more children under 110 cm in height, all but the first child, we regard as one adult. (Ex, Two adults may bring two children under 110 cm free of charge. If one adult accompanies three children under 110 cm, the fee is the same for three adults).
This tour includes an elephant activity with one elephant and one person. However, the accompanied child will experience an elephant with an adult. If the child wishes to have one’s own elephant experience separately, the child must book as an adult.
