A GLORIOUS FULL DAY OUT : KAYAK IN THE SPECTACULAR LANDSCAPES BOTH THE NAM OU AND THE MEKONG RIVERS . A VISIT TO PAK OU CAVES AND KUANG SI WATERFALL
Early morning pickup from 8:15 – 09:00 am, then we leave for Manifa Elephant Camp. On the way we stop at Ban Xang Hai (Whisky Village), where the local rice wine is produced. At about 10 AM, we arrive at MANIFA ELEPHANT CAMP and start “MEANINGFUL ELEPHANT INTERACTIONS PROGRAM“.

After finishing 1 hour program, we drive northward 20 minute to Ban Hard Mard. From there we start kayak on the Nam Ou River. We enjoy a breathtaking view of the tranquil countryside and see a wonderful nature built limestone cliffs called Pha Aen on the way. 1 hours kayaking takes us to the first destination the confluence of the Nam Ou and Mekong Rivers, Pak Ou.
Upon arrival at Pak Ou, we visit the famous Pak Ou Caves – two linked caves crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes left by devoted pilgrims. Exploring the caves about 30 min, we start the second course of the kayaking on the Mekong River. We paddle down the Mekong for 30 minutes until we ended our journey at Manifa Elephant Camp. There we enjoy a beautiful buffet style lunch at the restaurant – overlooking the Mekong River.
After lunch break, this adventure destination package takes you to the final destination Kuang Si Waterfall – you will have time to explore the three layered Kuang Si Waterfall walk the trails of the nature reserve and swim in the refreshing turquoise water pools and visit the bear rescue center. We leave for Luang Prabang in the late afternoon. We make a short visit at Ban Na Uan Hmong village on the way. We return to the city between 5:30-6:00 PM which is the ideal time to visit Phousi Mountain to see sunset.

Pak Ou Caves are well known as Tham Ting or Ting Cave, located on the riverbank, about 25km from Luang Prabang. The cave is very beautiful and filled with thousands of Buddha images and has long served as a pilgrimage site for all kinds of people, including members of the former royal family.

The Kuang Si Falls, sometimes spelled Kuang Xi or known as Tat Kuang Si Waterfalls, is a three levelled waterfall about 29 kilometres (18 mi) south of Luang Prabang. These waterfalls are a favourite side trip for tourists in Luang Prabang. The falls begin in shallow pools atop a steep hillside. These lead to the main fall with a 60 metres (200 ft) drop.
