5 days Challenging Trip

Activities: Trekking , Biking , Kayaking , Mahout training

Day 1: the trip starts with cycling down along a pave road about an hour. Then we will take a motor boat to cross Nam Khan River to one of most beautiful spot in Luang Prabang, Tad Sea Waterfall. You can spend there another hour for bathing and relaxing. In the afternoon we will cycle uphill pass small villages, paddy fields and cross streams. Getting tired from biking we will stay overnight at a village called Ban Hadkhor.

Day 2: In the early morning, we will start taking an easy walk along a flat path passing bushes and crossing small streams for about two hours. Then we will climb up to the jungle mountain. When we reach the peak of the mountain we stop for lunch in the place surrounding with forest and wild animals. After that we will walk through the jungle. You will see beautiful tropical forest and wild animals before heading to upland farms where we can observe local people working in the farms. We will stay another night at a Hmong village, Ban Mokchong, where you can learn its traditional life style and custom.

Day 3: Depart from the Hmong village; we will continue trekking through jungle to a Khmu village that would take about 3 hours. After lunch we will walk downhill to a Tai Leu village called Ban Lad Hea situated on the bank of Nam Ou River and stay there.

Day 4: We will row downstream with kayaks. In this course you will get excited with both calm and rapid current of the stream. You will also have a great chance to observe the way local people make lives and touch wonderful scenery of cliff, rocks and traditional architecture along riversides. We will make a lunch break at Tham Ting Cave where Nam Ou meets Mekong. Then we will continue rowing down to our elephant camp based on the west bank of the Mekong. In the early evening we will ride elephant to forest where we leave them overnight. We will return to the camp before sunset.

Day 5: In the early morning, it’s a very nice time to take a walk and head the forest where the elephants slept. Then take them back to the camp. After the breakfast you will enjoying learning elephant mahout – elephant controlling. Once you feel confident with controlling the elephant, we will them to Mekong River for bathing. After spending about 2 hours playing with the elephant in the river we will take them up and feed them. We will leave the camp for the town around noon.
